Nutritional/Feeding FAQ
How is Lovel suitable for all life stages?
When you think about what Wolves eat in the wild and what humans eat, what changes as they age? Nothing really except the quantity. In a perfect world the ingredients we feed our weaning babies would be the same as we'd eat in adulthood and our senior years because its healthy. The only thing that would change is the amount we eat. So if your dogs starts off on a very healthy diet as a puppy there's nothing to change when they reach adulthood and senior years except the amount you feed.
Lovel contains Glucosamine and Chondriotin for joint support which can be beneficial at all stages of life.
Is high protein suitable for a senior dog?
Absolutely! Many foods labeled as 'senior' have low protein and high carbohydrate levels which can be detrimental. Proteins are the building blocks of muscles which support the joints. Any excess carbohydrates will be turned into fat which would put extra stress on the joints. The higher the protein in a food the less room there is for carbohydrates and fat. They also have a much lower feeding guide than lower protein foods.
Can I add raw or cooked meat to my dogs diet?
Its a great idea to give variety to your dogs diet. We highly recommend some raw as part of that and we would suggest giving raw food at different mealtimes to dry extruded foods as the digestion rates will vary considerably.
